![]() I've worn a lot of headsets over the years, and this one is among the worst in terms of fit and design. Like I said, the biggest problem is the device itself, which is the most awkward headset you're ever going to voluntarily put on your head. If it really could read my brainwaves it would have registered as: annoyed and irritated. While it was designed to pick up on my brainwaves so it could analyze my abilities to focus and help me practice relaxing and meditating, it could never pick up a consistent signal, no matter how much I fiddled with the fit. Since the only iDevice I have is an iPod, (I'm an Android girl), I had to borrow an iPhone from a neighbor. It plugs into an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad, designed to operate with free apps that are supposed to enhance focus and concentration. The XWave is a headset that has an extra, patented forehead "NeuroSky eSense Dry Sensor" that's supposed to read brainwaves, with a "grounding earclip" that after awhile cuts off the circulation in your left earlobe. Sounded like I could pick up some Jedi mind tricks.īut it turns out, I was the one tricked by a gimmick. If you have any questions about any devices, implants, or objects that may fit the descriptions in this section, please consult your physician before using this, or any other device. The Star Wars fan in me liked the idea of a device that could link my brainwaves to a smart phone (or similar device), with apps that could analyze them and help develop focus and meditation skills. The magnetic field created by Sonal could affect these implants or objects resulting in movement, heating, or other unforeseen issues. Have metal objects such as shrapnel, bullets, bullet fragments, or magnetically activated dental implants. Have intracranially implanted devices (e.g., aneurysm clips, shunts, stimulators, cochlear implants, stents, or electrodes) or metallic objects within the head. Failure to follow this restriction could result in serious injury or death. This includes cardiac pacemakers, implanted medication pumps, defibrillators, and intracardiac lines. The magnetic field of the Sonal headset may disrupt the performance of these devices. Have an implanted device that is activated or controlled in any way by physiologic signals. However, this device should not be used by individuals who: Wave’s renewal headset (called Sonal) is proven through over 275,000 sessions to be safe and effective. Renew - Guided by your personalized Renewal plan, you’ll experience measurable improvements in sleep, cognitive performance, and well-being through a series of sessions utilizing Wave’s gentle magnetic stimulation headset.† Sessions are relaxing and last 30 minutes each, with most people beginning to see measurable results in as few as 10 sessions. The Renewal Report is developed using Wave’s proprietary algorithm-based analysis of your individualized brainwave frequency, revealing the specialized path to realigning and retraining your brain’s functional network to achieve peak mental performance. Report - After your recording is reviewed by a trained Neuro Tech, you’ll receive a private report readout. The initial recording session lasts 20 minutes and includes an overview of Wave’s patented technology. This recording maps your current alpha, beta, and theta brainwaves, identifying your current baseline and unique target frequency. ![]() Record - It starts with a simple and safe brainwave recording that captures a snapshot of your brain’s network behavior. The initial session will include an overview of the programming, with the full experience taking place across 3 modalities:
